After waiting for my Cyclone (And it never coming) and not quite having the funds to get any other at the moment (Sorry D!) I've gone for the cheaper alternative.... A 2nd-hand Mi2 EC (And it's in damn good nick too, considering it's only been used for carpet racing!)
So with that, a 2nd-hand LRP Sphere TC, a 9.5T brushless motor and some Trakpowers (Thanks BigD) I should be set to make an arse of myself (Sorry - "Practice"!) this coming weekend???
Just got to change the setup, as it's been set for foams, so there's a few adjustments that need to be made... But should be set pretty soon
And I've also done my Mazda shell too. Nothing special (As I'm no great painter) but it'll do! _________________ I will live forever, or die trying! |

All wired and installed (When I plug in the + from the ESC to the LiPo, it sparks - *Is* this normal, as none of my other vehicles do this!?
The car rides a 'little' low for my liking, but I don't know how low they're supposed to run (Only had buggies before) - there's about a 5mm gap between the chassis and the surface - Is that about right, or too low?
Other than that, and giving it a try today, should be all set.... (Getting those lipo's to not move about wasn't the most fun thing - I think my weight distribution might be a little off now!?)
Dodgy pictures to come. _________________ I will live forever, or die trying! |

Pictures: (Ignore the wiring from the RX - I'll be changing that to a 3500 at some stage, so don't care much about the wiring as long as it's out of the way!)

yet mine also sparks slightly
the track we have is bumpy so think about droop settings, i found with more droop (lower number) it handled so much better on the cornering |

Glad to hear nothings shorting (The 'spark' issue) so happy about that. I need to have a fiddle with the shock mounting, and the settings to get the ride height up just a little bit, as it almost touches now - Fine for a completely flat surface, but it's going to bottom out once it hits a leaf!
Thanks for all the comments... Time for me to make a fool out of myself and show how NOT to drive it
Think I should have got some wets for this coming weekend!!! _________________ I will live forever, or die trying! |

you can normally get away with a similar set up on this car to the Mi3 as all four corners are the same... but i think you may need to adjust the roll centre or something in that area to make it comparable...
For wet winter months I would say standard setup only stiffer springs than whites up front, something like an HPI silver, or Schumacher Blue would do. You will find that Schumachers are never anything less than fantastic in the damp/wet
I have an old Mi3 in need of some tlc, that could be useful to you for spares? at least the plastic stuff =] _________________ for some reason, my car likes to fly off kerbs...
note to self, steer clear of the red n white bits! |

Yup - She's sitting WAY too low... Just tried her up the road outside work, and it's scraping along the ground... Time for some adjusments all right! _________________ I will live forever, or die trying! |
