Lipo's/Nimh they are all the same in the fact that if you mistreat them then expect fireworks.
As far as the club is concerned i would say that 90% of our members now run them with NO issues.Providing you have the correct charger of course.
Personally i think its a 'No-brainer'.Lipo's all the way.

I'll convert over to LiPo once I get my new electrics (For that matter; maybe a new TC unless the Cyclone is still a good car these days?)
I take it I'd be aiming for the LRP Sphere as an ESC (Or Novak)? And a brushless motor equivalent to a 19T
(Just looking at the cost of six cells, there's not much in it between a hard-case LiPo and the cells - I'd just need a LiPo case to hold it in the car!)
[EDIT] Although I should be getting some NiMH batteries with the car (not sure of their quality though!) I suppose I could go LiPo off the bat - Can we still get LiPo cut-off's seperately? (Anyone know of a shop that stocks them?)
I'm currently using Revolectrix batteries in my 1/18th [http://www.aurorra.info/aurv2/index.php] but they are the soft-case kind - Are TC's limited to the shrapnel-inducing hard cases? (In which case I'll get a new charger - Suggestions?) |
