Forgot to say, there will be a control tyre for Scale Rubber in 2010. It's the Sorex 36. It will be a tyre, rim, insert combo. No building your own.

The only probs with Rubber is you will have to buy the control tyres made up these may be £20-25 per set. You wont be able to use ones you made yourself of which I have a couple of sets already. With foams you will be up against the best drivers in the country, This means Mr B you will not only have to be quick you will have to have a car that runs a full race, LOL

I have that trouble with rubber mainly Ash.I think Jon hit the nail on the head when he said that Snetts is my nemisis.

As for racing the best in the country......after the year i had this year---bring it on,
1.I'm not afraid of pushing my equipment to the edge(sometimes beyond)
2.I'll be competing for the enjoyment rather than the 'must win'.Yeh right i hear you say

Anyway working on the brownie points as we speak to get my passes for next year.

From discussions I had with various people at the AGM, I believe a "special" price is being negotiated with Schumacher for the 36's. They will be mounted on the harder rims as well.
I have to say I wasn't very keen on control tyres as 36's are best 1st run, ok they don't wear so fast but after that they ain't so good. We've found 32's to be better on more runs, but thet may just be us.
Don't fancy the early rounds next year, it's going to be a bugger to get some heat into them if the track is cold.
Got some tyre warmers, but you can't warm your motor up with them on the wheels and if you take them off before you warm up the motor the tyres will get cold. Catch 22 situation.

I would agree with you Jon 32s are far better than 36s suppose we could all go foamy. Regards Ashley

I would recommend anyone who's doing the Nationals for the first time to have a go at the rubber class - I consider it more like F2 and the open (foam) class more like F1. The rubber racers are a good bunch who like a competitive fun event - I get the impression the foam class is a bit more intense.

I'm going to wait and see about next year - I have a large number of rubber tyres ready for next year and now it seems I wont be able to use them! Hopefully the control tyre/wheel combo will be a good price....if not maybe foam?
