The secret to rear end grip

can you spot what the boys are using !!!

they fit on the rear body posts and transfer the down force from the body to the posts in turn to the chassis.

When looking at petes 8th scale foam car with the body mount system part of the rear shock tower so it would transfer the load direct to the rear wheels, it looks like they are trying to copy the idea.

The top 5 guys where using this little up grade.

found them here $24

Surly all they are doing is holding the body down tight on the posts which we all know is essential anyway , You always need the rear of the shell to be tight in place on the posts

Purple looks nice though

Next you will be saying we all need to go back to the 27meg systems like some of the top boys use !!!!!!!!!  As they say its faster than 2.4 or 40meg !!!!!!!!!!

This may be True But at club level we will never see or feel the difference

think about it and then get the car out and press on the back wing slightly you will see the rear end push down ..but also a small bit of body flex as well changingthe dynamics of the body  and reducing the downforce on the rear end ...

those parts remove that body flex so no downforce is lost it is all transferred to the car .....

i think pete has this similar set up on 1/10th .....xray also do a version ( basically body posts is all it is protruding from the rear ....

only small drawback to them are if you are rear ended you do not have that cushion  zone as such where the shell just squashes in but they can also help in a rear end and deflect the impact away from wishbones/shocks etc

right gone again bye bye
