TC5Practice results were a little disappointing, the car isn't great out of the box...
the basic problem is that the car has a strong tendency to spin coming out of a corner, as a result the only way to get a quick lap out of the thing is to be extremely delicate
could this be down to the fact that i'm using a 6.5 with a front diff? or is there something that i could change to sort the problem out?
any suggestions appreciated, what have people done with other cars if they've had this problem?

I would suggest backing the diffs off a little Tom.
And run the front diff a little looser than the rear, you did tell me that you'd done it right up.
As we discussed, you really need softer springs as well.

im down to 16.9s at the front and 14s at the back - apparently the kit needs more toe in than is standard...
its just a little worrying that i now only have one weekend to get the car ready for the stcc

thats what you get by getting a new car a week before stcc

just done the corally stcc with the tc5 my first run outdoors with it and nailed a setup pretty much. thought id give you the basics f you run at colchester all the time it was a very good setup enough for 9th in the A in tc1,
springs, hpi silver on the front rayspeed greens on the rear,
id say get a spool for the car the diffs just cant hack it.
also add o rings under the 4 screws in the rear of the top deck and loosen the front 2 for a little bit xtra flex.
everything else was kit good on carpet to.
hope thishelps

you're the guy i was qualifying against then =]
im running a very similar setup, hpi silvers front, schumacher whites rear
spool up front,
im running a roll bar up front cos there's waaaay too much front end on the thing, and ive had to put kick up at the rear to calm it down over the ripples through the last corner

lol didnt know i was up against another tc5, i was with the cyclone for ages and felt like a change, got hold of this tc5 mega cheap brand new unbuilt with a few extras.
i had rollbars all round only problem was i was on a proper shagged set of tyres so i had understeer know end but i messed about with the rear toe a bit and got a massive amount of steering to help out with the old tyres, also have u got the front shocks on the inner hole of the wishbone from kit setup?? if so put them on the outside improved the car for me tenfold didnt make it as front endy and calmed it down a bit.
i might run it without the roll bars at my next outdoor meeting but as it is on carpet its dialled hehe great car.

have to admit, i didnt use a rear roll bar, n i too had very old tyres on in the end... was only using 50% steering, and iv already done the shock thing...
think my next thing to do though is to just push a bit more with it, i havent done what i wud consider a 'good lap' with the car yet, im still too early on braking, too late on throttle... theres more to come
