BigD

forecast is somewhere between 15 and 18 degrees, and at worst an 8mph wind... so really good track conditions for all n if its anything like it was today, itl be nice and bright and clear too...
anyone able to bring a laptop? mines a bit knackered, got a mobile broadband thingy to use tho: if someone brings a laptop we can watch the grand prix trackside
Mikey

I'll bring mine as usual, dunno if the mobile thingy will work though.

Mr.B

It was quite cold early on but the sun came out eventually and was then nice and warm.
There was Me,Big D,Darren,Mikey,Leon,Tom and Matt Sadler all pitting together so we had a good laugh.
Right,Quali.
Well i'd had a couple of good practice runs with the 009 and in my first round of quali i was of to a good start for the first few minutes till a pin came out of a driveshaft. But since i was in 2nd at the time i was pretty upbeat.
2nd run and i did a 17.314 which was ok for 7th in B but i knew there was more to come.I'd spent 5secs being marshalled on one lap.And with only 5 secs between me and 6th in A i was confident.
Final run and i had as good a run as i could hope for and improoved by 7.5 secs so 17.307 and a big jump to 10th in the A.
So to the finals and with the top 5 in the A being local and Messers Fuller and Copsey a lap up on me i was of the 'Can only do better than 10th' opinion.
So 1st final and quite a good start up to about 6th little bit of 'crash bang wallop' and ended up with a good run in 8th.
Pretty much same again in the 2nd final 8th again.
Last final and not such a good start, last until about half way when i caught 9th,Steve Lissamore, and then managed to keep him behind me until the end.
So ended up getting 9th overall and a big improvment on Eastbourne.
The others:
Mikey, looked good all day again and finished mid-C
Matt, unlucky with breakages but Mid C also i think.
Darren,2nd or 3rd in D,More importantly to him,beating Dave.
Big D,Wishbone carrier fell off when in the lead of one final,so unlucky to finish back of D.
Leon,Made the Mod A and looked good but had problems.
Tom,I have to say,i was marshalling his finals,He had a combination of car falling apart and being Bashed. So not all his fault and probably finished back of B.
Funny points of the day were Mikey bending 2 bulkheads and then saying 'I didnt even hit anything' Yeh right Mikey, the Fairy's must have bent them.Tom, saying that he was getting some really bad interference only to realise that he'd picked up someone elses handset.
Watching Big D| and Darren battle it out in their final
Then to finish the day Darrens car had a flat battery and it took 20minutes to find a way of getting to the battery, which was under the passenger seat.
Paul.

paul, i actually got 7th in the b in the end... but its just my luck that i only found some pace when it was a bit redundant...
never mind, ive got higher hopes for west london, snett etc...
and just to reiterate.... IM NOT DOING BROOKLANDS!!!
BigD
yes you are tom
Hugh Jengine
Thanks for the report Paul - well done to all who took part - 2 CMCC members in A finals is a good result.
Mr.B

Well Done all! ...
Anyone got a engine knocking about?
BallisticMissile
Dave, do you honestly wanna have to put up with me all the way to and from Brooklands?
And not bein funny, but the noises ur backside was making on sunday i think id have to stick my head outta the window the entire way there!
Besides I can't get the time off work

CuttingEdge
What Hell was Big D & Sharpie doing in the D Final ????????????
SPX BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr.B
I dont think the SPX baby was the problem,i think it was the TC5 Baby that was the bigger issue.
CuttingEdge
Ill Give him £25 for it and thats my final offer BABY
CuttingEdge
On a more posative note It could be the shocks as the Team Drivers ( Inside info here ) are running Tamiya Shocks on there TC5 's , as the TC5 shocks are very short and on Bumpy Tracks are Pants ............
I Should have told Big D that befor he went to Southend Sorry
BallisticMissile
nah ur right, Paul used my shocks as the guinea pig and voila a car 100 times better than before....
sharpie
that and a quick spin on the set up board tom.
BallisticMissile
still cant believe a gauge was nearly 2 degrees out!
BigD
TC5 shocks are ok but they are short like you say trev. once built right with no air they seam to perform ok on a flat track we shall see at brooklands when the SPX BABY realy streaches it legs
BallisticMissile
Dave, will you be experimenting with a one-way?
I got mine sorted for Snetterton n maybe west london...
sharpie
Trev
i dont have an SPX baby and still out qualified Dave and then beat him in all 3 finals, although the last final was luck and dave not going over the loop on 1 lap.
This is with the mi3.5 not some super dooper x-ray or TC5, oh sorry what am i saying, its better than the TC5.
Dave and myself in 1 heat did hit the straight at the same time and he did get the end of it quicker but i seemed to be able to corner faster than him.
not sure what will happen at brooklands though
BallisticMissile
Yehh to be fair the Mi3 is a good car over bumps, I was 2 laps quicker last year with a brushed motor, kinda proves it....
we shall see how things are with tracks that have fast flat sweepers though...
BigD
me paul done one way at brooklands last year and a spool is much quicker it pulls you round the 1st corner and makes the in feild eaiser to drive

How many motors will we blow up beetween you guy's this year?
BigD
me thinks a lot as @ west london we done 4 between us
been reading what it does to the motor on rc tech and "some people say" that it's a motor killer on the big tracks
BRING ON BROOKLANDS BABY
