hi ozzy im glad to see you are geting in to the RC hobby the thing is with these cars is that thay need alot of tender love and care ie you need to take them apart alot to clean mantain and fix. most things can be fixed quite easily like your pull cord.
to fix the pull cord you will nead to remove the engin from the car
and then remove the pull start assembly from the motor this should come off in one piece but be careful there is a spring in there.
to reatach the pull string all this has to come apart eny way. to do this job may tack abit of perseverence because the sring can be a bit of a pain to get back in  but its not to hard.

are you going to the AGM if so if you have eny troubles bring it along and ill have a look.
hope this helps and remember its 50% mantainance and 50% driving and you wont learn if you dont take it apart.

Hi ozzy, i know exactly what u mean m8, everyones new at some point so dont be afraid to ask questions no matter how silly they may seem, u never know u may stump some of the experts from time to time

first off yes it is incredibly common for pull starts to break, ive had 3 engins with pull starts, all of them have wrecked on me, the stress of repairing my own wud say try 2 get a starter box or some other form.

starter boxes simply are a box that u use 2 start the car, they run off a 12v or 2 7.2v batteries and u just simply push the car down onto them, dependant on what car u run will depend on what starter box, most of them are universal. CHECK FIRST or ull end up like me with a starter box thats a pain to get set up.

tobie is abslutly right there, for you to learn your car, not only do u have 2 drive it but u do need 2 repair it and maintain it. i find the maintanance can be a bit annoying and unessacary at times but what u do to the maintanance goes a long way for your performance

yea like james sais you have to clean and maintain your car BUT i always feel that it is worth while doing
A clean car is a happy car
