Glad to see they'll be a good number from Colchester MCC at the Snett round. I've just taken a look at the booking in and there are 15 pre-booked in the scale rubber class - plus the 'mob' from Colchester. I'm in, just got to get my work done in time

The top 4 to beat will probably be John Zottl (foam and rubber A final winner) Tristan, Bally (this years champion) and Joe Keaveney. So, i'd expect a good number of CMCC boys battling it out for the A final places.....

If anyone fancies some Saturday practice the track will be open - Pete and I are hoping to get down there at about 2pm ish and camping over.

See you there, Ryk
Mr.B

New shell is done.
Car has been stripped and new belts and spurs fitted.
Ready to rumble, however wont be there til sunday morning.

Hugh, what time do they normally start the 'practice'.
And is the 1750gms with or without fuel?

Something for the 'Mob' to check on: Check your wing 'overhang',Your fuelling hole in the bodyshell(50mm) and your fuel tank capacity.

Booking in

I just had a thought - If people are going to be arriving on Sunday morning, it will probably be best if I email Malcolm with driver details, so he can pre-book you all.

If everyone coming could leave their details below, i'll send an email over tomorrow evening.

Name
BRCA number
PT
Crystal numbers (if used) or spektrum

Mr B. I'm 99% certain the weight is without fuel. Practice start time seems to depend on the club hosting the event - Jon wil probably be best to answer this one.

PLEASE BRING BRCA CARDS WITH YOU ON SUNDAY.
Mr.B

Cheers Ryk,i know all my details are already on Snetts computer but here they are anyway.

Me

Hi Guys, the IC section use their own computer, so forwarding details to Malcom may not be a bad idea. As per all the other rounds this year there will be one round of practice in heat order on Sunday which I suspect will start at about 9.30am. The track is closed on Sunday until then.
I may or may not be at Snett. on Saturday, I'm away in Canterbury at the moment looking after my daughter in law and grandchildren as she had a nasty fall and fractured her ankle and displaced her coccyx, and my son is unable to get time off work. I'm returning home on Friday evening, then driving back to Canterbury early Saturday morning with my wife to take over from me. I'm then turning round again and heading back to Norfolk. So about 480 miles in about  a day.
See you all Sunday for sure.
Mr.B

Blimey Jon,you never have it easy do you.

Safe driving and see you sunday.

Paul.
pjlague

Hi Paul
1750 without fuel, they are hot on the rear wing height, must not be above roofline, and track width 200 mm,rear wings painted, not clear, you must run ins box.
look forward to seeing you all at Snett.
Best Regards Pete.
Mr.B

Cheers Pete.
Rear wings painted? Never heard of that one before.....
Oh well had better get it painted then
Hugh Jengine

Anybody else to pre-book ?

It will make things easier when you arrive and I think you pay less for pre-booking.

I'll email the BRCA rep all driver details left here tomorrow night.

Hi Dave
No ins box no racing, they are very strict on that,im sure you will be able to buy one there, the serpent chap there should have one, uncle Bob did have some, and other people, but as i said you will need one, otherwise you will not be racing.
Best Regards Pete.
Mr.B

Brca.....???

Aston's PT is 5971021

Hugh Jengine

Thanks guys, email sent.

Dave - if you need to borrow an INS box, i'm sure we can sort it out. I also have a very-good condition Protoform Nemesis shell that you can have to race - may need body holes re-cutting, but we can sort that on the weekend.
Mr.B

I also have a Dodge already cut to NT1(In good nik),but with a big opening where the exhaust exits the shell where i used 2 different pipes.
ast

Thanks paul
Hugh Jengine

You're IN.

Recieved confirmation from Malcolm today - you're all booked in (just need Dave's BRCA number). I didn't add Julian to the list, but booking one in on Sunday will be no problem - fingers crossed he can join us!

Just thought of one other thing you may not know - Tyre addative of any sort is not allowed.

Ryk
Mr.B

Tyre-warmers?
pjlague

Hi Paul
Yes tyre warmers are ok.
Best Regards Pete.
ast

did somone say to me the other day , that we cant use shark pipes

forecast ............  Intervals of clouds and sun with a couple of showers. Winds from the ENE
Craig.Woods

Re: You're IN.

Hugh Jengine wrote:

I love that stuff!

on a more Serious note - Does that mean were not allowed to clean the tires either? or?

Aston - Think it depends which shark pipe youve got. They made a legal and not so legal one!?
Mr.B

This is what the rule says......

'9.3     Mufflers

A muffler of approved double chamber design including silencer chamber must be fitted.  The muffler will have a single outlet pipe.

The minimum tail pipe length is 10mm having a maximum internal dimension of 5.2mm (measured at the widest point). NOTE this dimension includes a tolerance to account for manufacturers variation in commercial available tubing.'

So like Craig says i guess it depends which one you have?
Mr.B

Oh,and it looks like we might get damp at some point on sunday.

Still,i'd rather be racing nitro than electric if it does rain.Ipswich in the wet got a bit expensive for me last year.
Ashers

Hi Craig you are not allowed to use anything on your tyres, except a dry cloth. Regards Ashley
Craig.Woods

This all seems very serious!
dan_916

I may turn up as a spectator with my camera.  Do you guys mind if a come and say hello??  Just that I would like to see what happens behind the scenes!

Well it is a National, expect people to be taking it a bit serious. BUT not that serious.
spmcc

Thanks to all from Colchester who came today. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Special thanks for the loan of the scoreboard, a lot of the  drivers commented on it being there and the help it gave to the mechanics during the finals.
Mr.B

Good meeting Jon,even if we didnt quite get the results we wanted.
And you sorted the weather as well, makes a change from dark/damp cold January.

Paul.
Hugh Jengine

Yes, many thanks to Jon for running the meeting and well done Tris for the win.

I had a very enjoyable day back at racing (first time for a couple of months) - thanks to the "CMCC Mob" for the company and well done to all who raced.

The B final was looking good for a while - Aston got up to first and was leading until his premature retirement on lap 26 and then Woods Senior took over the lead until lap 36 when tyre troubles kicked in - very nearly a good result!

The A final was close for 3rd place for a long time with Paul, me and Joe Keaveny swapping postitions until pitlane incidents caused retirement for Mr B and myself.

Well done to Pete for 4th place overall.   The results are up on the BRCA site in the IC section.
ast

any of the videos been put up yet mate ??
Craig.Woods

Im not sure i wanna see no video!

(Check the For Sale Sections chaps!)
