Well done TimmyR - a well deserved A final place - and that was with your age-old RB V12 which is certainly passed its best! I thought this was the best you have driven, especially the last round of quallifying - can you make it 2 A finals in a row?

A lesson learnt for Pete and myself i think - fail to prepare - prepare to fail! I spent all Saturday putting my car together   and Pete spent Saturday talking to everyone about his 235 !

While we were wasting time Tim managed to get out there in the changing conditions and test out his car ready for the race day and i'm sure the confidence he got from that helped him put in some top runs on the Sunday. Well done again - 7th overall .

Thanks all ..

V12 it was not it was an even older X12 lol

Anyway summary

Friday evening was finishing Bodyshell off ( painting ) placed it outside shed to dry and it rained hard before i couldf retrieve it resulting in one very bubbly paint job so a quick cut out of other bodyshell ( i paid a rat to run round it )Thsi was at 11pm got to bed about 11.30 ish i think but didsnt get to sleep till about 1

meant to meet Ryk at 5.30 and pete at 6 ... Didn't wake up till 6.20   phoned Ryk and told him ......

Picked up the lads lol apologies all round

Set off for the Track we all love

Good journey down stopped off at the services at reading for breakfast   tad expensive but needed

Dry weather on way there but got to within 10 miles of track and it started a bit of rain ( deja vu xray gp part 1 style) arrived at track very wet ground conditions  and set up the tent .....

Then we set up the pit area Thsi time seeing i have experience of Costwold in the rain we had decidied not to take the gazebo as not very sheltered plus if the winds that are normally whipping through there are present then they have a habit of destroying gazebos so we took my other large tent for a pitting space and what a brilliant idea it was ,plenty of room and sheltered us well and also able to leave the gear in overnight and save the hassle of packing up and setting up ...

I had to just put car on setup board and final little things ( grease thrust bearing etc )

Ryk hmmm all he had to do was clean the car , set it up .. he also wanted to fix a xray nt1 receiver box on to it to waterproof his electrics and then to also fit his new engine ... which did not fit easily without dremelling the emgine mounts and filing a huge chunk out of the top deck etc etc ....in reality this took him from 11.30 ish to 7pm    so no run time for Ryk

Pete was all setup car ready but had deceided not to run in the damp conditions and plus wanted to pick the brains of teh 235 crews so he didnt take to the track ....

I myself after dousing the car with a good coating of wd40 took to the track to see wasn't raining but small areas of standing water present and the car handled like a dream

Took the car out a few times and the conditions changed a few times worst was when it was a wet track but no water as it was just so greasy

Decided to get round to spraying shell ) after Ryk kindly trimmed it up for me lol )

Silver and green ...will find a pic soon

Anyway track closes and ryk is just finshing off his preparation to allow his car to run

Off to the pub we go for food and drink

Steak and ale pie for ryk and myself

Pete Ordered the chips and gammon and peas instead of the  extras ( coleslaw salad _)

food turns up Petes has all the extras attached and no peas.... OI garcon   plate goes away with attached items scraped off but gammon not cooked to well done standard and th epeas then arrive

Ryks and mine arrives with 6 baby new potatoes to share between us   OI GARCON    is this all the potatoes we get ..Yes Sir    ....Would you like me to get you some more ... Er yes please........
another five potatoes arrive

We then return to the tent for a few more bevvies but Ryk has had a hard day so he retires early ...

Failed to mention previous that during the day i had noticed that RYk had forgotten to zip his tent up so now had a indoor paddling pool effect going on lol

...
Pete and myself stayed up for a while longer discussing things

During the night was woken by the rain and wind a few times   which did not bode well fr the days racing

Woke up at five fifteen requiring the need of toilet ands wanted to check taht the pit tent was still ok ......
all fine

Pete had also woken up and we then set about starting the day as normal

BREAKFAST and Ryk had also joined us ...

one of the Best things about cotswolds The Showers omg bliss as none of the other venues have these so easily accesible/to a useable standard...

Tbc ...
