lot going on at mo ash will get there hopefully
summary =
Ryk Could not attend due to family problems
Pete and Tobie and myself attended
Deceiving track looks big in website pic but in real life its not what wide but a very demanding track not as high powered as the rest but at first was very underawed with it but once you got used to the track and running ANTICLOCKWISE it was a brilliant track it rates in my top Three Cotswolds Halifax and now Wrexham
Sadly to say though that due to interc lub reasons it was the last meeting to be held there
The track and its facilities will remain but not used .....Indoor and outdoor track avail;able as it is on a site that was bought by someone solely for the use of Wrexham MCC .Outdoor track cost 6k to build nice fine asphalt good straights ( well sort of straight ) with an added ski jump launch pad on it lol ( cars hit a grass edge and fly 20-30ft about 4 high )
we all were in the same qualifying heat so we had to gain assistance with refuelling at starts
In last rtound i ended up in the A final but did not feel comfortable with it so my aim was to make the B and after round 3 of qualies i was in The A thanks to a stonkinh 18.80 laptime but in the 4th qualifyer Front belt snapped 2 mins into the race after a freak unaided Lemans style flip down back straight landed back on four wheels to the applause of marshalls and kept going but haldf a lap later that was the end of belt.
I made pole in the B
Pete Had a few gear stripping problems and managed to qualify 7th in the A
Toby although was not there on Saturday so no practice for him did well even with a few forrays off the course and managed to qualify 8th in the A
Finals up im on first only 4 cars in the final
Started off welland maintained first for a short period of time but a few incidents and a case of bodyshell fouling which i needed a marshall to pull out who did it with my car upside down so it flamed out and had to return car to pitman Pete .... Got back on track but in 4th and quite a few laps down but managed to claw my way back to third and hold that once you go the flow of track you were Fine ....... finished 3rd
Pete Made a wrng tyre choice for his finals 36s were just too hard for the available track heat so even on the start grid he span into barrier ( and malcolm norwoods foot ) and had to fight the car to grip constantly but after a period of time he lost second gear and then within a few laps second gear so into pits and change the gears over and back out but due to the being stuck in first gear on first fuel stop it blew a glow plug and then when after the gear rebuild it blew another ... back on track Pete managed to hold onto his 7th position overall.
Toby went well to begin with but it thn sounded like he lost second gear but very shortly lost any power what so ever due to a very broken engine but still retained his 8th position
Due to Ryk not attending his main Rival Michael Ball who took First in the A has overtaken him on the leader board for second Place whilst Stephen Lander has Taken the Title of Brca i/c 1/10th Rubber champion ( this man used to win nationals with a ntc3 up until a few years ago)
Thje points and results have not been posted yet so will update asap same as the photos will upload and post link |

Hi Ash
Im sure Tim will put something up,but no not all bad.
Qualy
Tim poll in B final
Toby 8th in A final
Me 7th in A final
Ryk could not go due to illness in family (shame)it cost him 2nd in championship.
Tim 3rd in B final
Toby 8th in A final (conrod broke 10 minutes into final
me 7th in A final (striped second gear 10 minutes into final, then 1st gear then 2 glow plugs, due to running 1st gear for 20 minutes of final
So Tim got another trophy (shame for Tim he should have won that final),he finished the championship in 7th ,very good for first national championship.Well done Tim.
Ryk finshed 3rd in championship (shame he could not make it to the last round) as there was only 2 points between 2nd and 3rd place,im sure Ryk would have made 2nd.Well done Ryk.
Toby only done 2 rounds, but went very well, shame about his engine, but that is national racing, but you do use them a bit on these big tracks.
Me I finished 4th in championship, with 4 bad rounds,it was a great championship,We all had a great time doing this championship, and went to some great tracks and great racing, and i cant wait untill next season when i will be doing the national 235 super GT series they are even quicker.
Pete. |

I would like to send my thanks to the CMCC nitro touring team - The brca rubber series has been an entertaining championship to compete in. We've all experienced highs and lows throughout the year, but managed to always enjoy the competitive racing and new track experiences.
Next years brca championship could be even more interesting, with a large number of local CMCC and Snett drivers contemplating entering.
I'm not sure how many weekends i'll have for racing next year, but would like to attend a good number of brca rounds, but also want to compete in the CMCC championship as well.
Anyway, well done to Pete and Tim for their results in their first year of national racing - and Tobie for his B final win and A final results.
Here's the final championship table:
1 Stephen Lander 9259 597 101 100 97 99 - 100 100 96
2 Michael Ball 4656 590 98 94 100 - 98 91 100 100
3 Ryk Pryk 2209 584 97 98 99 95 97 98 90 -
4 Devendra Mahatme 10163 564 89 86 98 96 83 93 97 91
5 Joseph Keaveny 14685 564 96 - 94 93 91 97 93 -
6 Peter Lague 932 563 95 95 97 90 86 92 87 94
7 Steve Woodhams 125 558 - 96 93 92 95 90 - 92
8 Gyan Mahatme 16228 555 90 90 - 94 89 89 95 97
9 Malcolm Norwood 2622 532 86 89 90 89 87 86 88 89
10 Tim Routen 9273 530 87 84 84 85 88 88 94 88 |
