E of E - 4wd Regional - Round 4 - Colchester

As you must all know the final round of the East of England 4wd Championship takes place on the 17 August.

Last year it proved to be a very enjoyable event, and threw up some surprises with the results to.

Yes the BBQ is confirmed.

It will run from about 8.30-lunchtime.Drinks will also be available.

Don't forget you can all come and watch on Sunday it's FREE and you will see some close racing ( on the grass instead of tarmac ) Its where it all started from, these off road cars have been racing for years and from them came the touring cars of today. So come along and see them racing.

Or dust off the old buggy and race.You can enter the'Open' class with Lipo's or 2WD.

Well another regional at our track completed. BIG thanks to those who helped especially Mr & Mrs Vince Graver for doing the food. Wet start to the day but then the sun came out and all was good. Nice to see the buggy's doing there stuff and some close racing was had by all. Dave Brimley was the only CMCC member to take part and i think he enjoyed it. Mr B was going to have a go with Vinces car but he had problems. Once gain thanks to all that helped out.

19 drivers attended the 4th and final Round of the 4WD Regional Championship at Colchester Model Car Club.
Drivers from 5 Clubs were represented ( CMCC,BBC, NBC, LBC, and MERCC ) and I would like to thank all of those who attended and provided a great days racing.
Thanks also to Tim, Paul, and the team at Colchester for providing the venue which as usual threw up some surprises..
The A Final was made up of drivers from 4 different clubs and included 4 5’s.
Congratulations to David Orbell for being both top qualifier and taking the win.
Top F5 was John Myall who finished 4th, Top F4 Sam Bradshaw who was 8th, and Top F3 Simon Watson (yet again) who finished 3rd.
Thanks again and well done everyone!!
This being the Final Round we were able to confirm the overall Championship positions. Full results will be posted later but I can confirm
4WD Champion 2008 Jonathan Brown
Runner up and top F2 David Orbell
3rd place and top F5 John Myall
5th place and top F3 Simon Watson
14th place and top F4 Sam Bradshaw

Hope to see you all for the final round of 2WD Series to be held at Eastrax on 21st September.

Despite my overall days racing, I did enjoy myself, thanks mainly to the really good weather and great organisation by Colchester Model Car Club.
