quick summary
Well done to Charlie and Les and George for attending their first large Race meeting and keeping it together throughtout the day
Pete Drove well throughtout qualifying and qualified 8th in the A but due to a snapped front driveshaft within the first three to four minutes he had to nurse the car round for the following 26 and he finished in possibly ninth
As mentioned above we attended a local beer festival briefly sat evening just down the road in which Ryk did partake in a few ales and then returned to camp where we had a few more and where Pete and myself thought no thats enough some did carry on and this morning was testament to the night time session ( pictures to follow ( and yes even the cardi ones ) and Ryk did struggle in theory all day but managed to qualify 3rd in A and finished 3rd in A
Myself good and bad First round bad .... second round so so ... Third round BLINDING car just stuck and went well ...Fourth back end sliding out everywhere and could not find the reason why ...... Qualified 1st in the B ...... Finished 3rd in b as could not get the back end to stick easily ........
more to follow with pics ........ |

Hi, Ho fellow East Anglians, don't know if you guys noticed but us from "down south" seemed to be in the minority at the meeting today, or any other IC national. But today 60% of the A Final in Scale Rubber was made up of us Southerns.
Also believe it or not the top 3 in the Scale Rubber standings are also Southerners. 1st Ryk, 2nd Devendra, 3rd Malcom.
But I digress, serves you right Mr Pryke Beer Festivals and racing don't mix, didn't you realise that it was my fiendish plan so Tris would have a better chance of beating you, and it worked
Guys, this years Numbs Nuts is going to be interesting as rumour has it Mr B has also reaquired an NT1.
Hang in there Ryk. |

lol Jon - although my head, brain & eyesight was a bit foggy, i don't think i could have improved the result with a beer-free weekend - Tris and Stephen were a cut above in the quallies & final. Congrats to both and thanks to Jon for his time and effort put in to the meeting.
Pete and Tim were both back on form - i think Tim managed to shock himself with his round 3 speed (11th fastest overall), but a mystery problem scuppered his chances of the top-step in the B final. Pete was quick throughout the morning rounds, but a lost drive shaft in the final put him out of the running.
I would like to thank the rest of the Colchester racers (and families) for their company this weekend and thought they all faired well on their first national race day. George went well throughout the day getting steadily quicker and not loosing his consistency and Charlie-boy showed some good pace - i think his best qualy result would have been the one where his laps weren't counted!
Looking forward to this years numb-nuts - should be some close racing and a well supported event........i'm sure Mr B could be persuaded to hang up his lipo battery packs for the winter......we might even manage to tempt JBS away from nappies and babies and back to racing..... |
